The following camp staff members are available throughout the year to answer any of your questions about camp.
Dara Kahane, Camp Director darak@bvg.on.ca
Dara is proud to be returning for her third season in the role of Camp Director and eighth summer at camp. Anyone who has had the opportunity to speak with Dara over the years will quickly appreciate why she is such a great leader for the Bayview Glen team. Dara’s wealth of professional experience, strong attention to detail, belief in open communication and problem solving approach are a just a few of the qualities that she brings to her role. Her vision of continually improving Bayview Glen’s program each summer has led to the successful launch of BVG Sports & BVG Arts. A Special Education Resource Teacher when not at camp, and a proud mother of three, Dara is the ideal person for her position.
Leela Waxman, Assistant Camp Director leelaw@bvg.on.ca
Leela has been involved in the camp community for over two decades. Leela has been a counsellor, Unit Head and Senior Supervisor. She is now the Assistant Director for her second year. We have been fortunate to have her as part of the Bayview Glen Day Camp family for over 13 years. With her deep understanding of camp programming and as a mother of three young children, Leela brings valuable assets to our management team. Leela is a registered Dental Hygienist who teaches at George Brown College during the year.

We are thrilled to have Ricko back at camp for his 8th summer and 2nd as our Director of Human Resources. His strong leadership and dedication to camp make him a perfect fit for our year round office team!!! His communication skills, high energy level, enthusiasm and experience give’s us the confidence that our staff will continue to meet your high expectations! He is also available to help answer any questions that you may have as you contemplate your summer plans for 2008. During the summer, you will be able to find Rick just about everywhere at camp ensuring that our programming and staff continue to meet our highest standards.

Marc is thrilled to be returning for his thirteenth summer at camp! After an extremely successful summer as Director of Operations ensuring the smooth and safe operation of camp, we are delighted to welcome Marc back into the office. A busy student at the University of Toronto during the year, Marc will be available on a part-time basis to answer any questions you may have about camp. His wealth of experience, great organizational skills and an “always willing to help” attitude make him a great asset to our team.

Danielle is excited to be part of the office team this fall after being part of our extremely successful 2007 season. The combination of her skills as a Social Worker and Camp Administrator create a perfect fit for Bayview Glen Day Camp. A true camper at heart and mother of 3, Danielle will be managing all of our camper registration and will be pleased to address any questions you may have regarding placement of campers into proper cabin groups. During the summer, Danielle will be using her Social Work skills to train staff on “sensitive issues”, support staff and families with campers in our Sunshine program and ensure the overall “wellness” of campers and staff throughout the summer.
