For Campers Born in 1998.
Full Day 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Our Staff-in-Training (S.I.T.) program gives our oldest campers hands-on experience and training as young leaders. It's a fun way to spend the summer as you learn, develop and practice lifelong skills. Those who complete the summer-long program will have a Leadership Certificate to add to their resume.
Grade 8 graduates who are at least 13 years old – and who have the maturity necessary to contribute to and benefit from this excellent program – are invited to apply.
S.I.T.s spend the major part of their time assisting the camp counsellors or specialists and working with younger campers. Under the direction of our S.I.T. Coordinator, participants grow through ongoing evaluation. They also develop their leadership skills through training sessions and workshops on topics such as: risk management, supervision, communication, teamwork, health and safety, programming, conflict management and dealing with bullying.
S.I.T. program participation requires attendance at our pre-camp sessions (involving all staff members). Note that, as the S.I.T. program is designed as a complete summer-long course, you must register for the full summer to receive a Leadership Certificate.
"We are pleased our sons spend their summers working in a safe, caring and positive environment. The Camp's Staff in Training teaches the skills, ethics and standards needed for success in any career."
